Iridescent is a song by Moonlight.

The Full Moon was not far away from Earth's shadow. Skies over Sicily were dominated by passing clouds. The full moon was partially obscured by small but similar sized water droplets near the edges of the high thin clouds. The iridescence is like a lunar corona. The Full Moon was seen close to the star cluster at the lower left of the cloud bank. The stars of the Seven Sisters were about to share the sky with a red disk.

The world has a total solar eclipse.
The image is copyrighted by the Inst. of Physics in Opava.
There was a total solar eclipse yesterday. airplanes flew below the Southern Ocean to capture the phenomenon. The sun's outer corona is seen as the dark spot in the center in the featured image, which was taken during the eclipse. A wing and engine of the airplane can be seen across the left and bottom of the image, while another airplane can be seen on the far left. A shadow cone is the dark area of the sky surrounding the Sun. It is dark because you can see a long corridor of air shadowed by the Moon. The planet Mercury can be found just to the right of the Sun. The next total solar eclipse shadow will cross parts of Australia and Indonesia in April of 2023, followed by the one after that in April of 2024.
