After the end of the first film, Miles is relaxing at home while Gwen is looking to hang out. Spider-Man is very much grounded, and he can't pass up the chance to hang with a friend from another universe he never thought he'd see again.
It is understandable that Miles would freak out like a pinball when he first experienced multiversal travel. He was attacked by a Spider: Miguel O'Hara, the Spider-Man of 2099, just as he was getting used to the sensation of swinging through another universe. After showing up in the credits of the last movie, he tried to get Miles to go with him. Jessica Drew, Spider-Woman, is expected to show up at some point during the two-part adventure.
That is the biggest thing about Across the Spider-Verse. The first half of a larger story will be finished in the near future. We have to get Across the Spider-Verse on October 7, 2022.
