The Fortnite island flipped over during Chapter 2’s final event

The big chapter-ending event of Fortnite just ended. The players were saved in a rescue mission led by Johnson. His character in the game. The island flipped over.

The event is happening.

Let's go back a bit. When the event loaded up, a giant blue cube appeared on the map next to all of the players in my lobby. The jumping at the cube bounced players away, but it didn't do anything. The Cube Queen has been floating in an energy ball over the center of the island for part of the season.

Hello, cube.

The Queen Cube is moving fast.

When the clock reached 10 minutes, the Cube Queen's laugh echoed over the island and zombies started to show up. The zombies didn't seem to pose any real threat, so players worked to fend off the incoming zombie troopers.

The cube queen's pyramid shone bright when the clock reached zero. She launched a beam into the sky that opened up a huge portal and revealed a bunch of giant aliens. During the seventh season of the game, the island was under the shadow of just one alien.

The players tried to keep the zombies off the blue cube. Things went from bad to worse when a flying object blew up the blue cube.

It was very bad.

The event took an interesting turn after that, moving the perspective under the surface of the island to a computer generated image. It was similar to a TV show likeFortnite. The main character, Agent Jones, was strapped to a laboratory chair with a device on his head, and Doctor Slone, who betrayed players at the end of last season, was about to end Jones' life. Then, a hulking figure known as The Foundation burst in to save the day, and he took off his mask to reveal that he was actually played by the man himself.

Two other characters dressed like The Foundation saved players on the surface and brought them to the inner island as Jones and The Foundation tried to get to safety. The players were given control to follow someone called The Scientist to get to Jones. The island began to tip over during the escape.

The island started to tip over.

The Foundation at the Zero Point has been a key plot point in the game. The scientist assured everyone that we were safe, but then one of the zombies smashed a window, causing water to rush in and force us out.

My character surfaced and watched as the island slowly tipped up to be completely vertical and then fell the other way. The giant portal with the UFOs closed after that crushed the Cube Queen. The island flipped over and revealed a new landscape. A tidal wave swept my player out to sea, even though he could see a little bit of the new areas to explore.

When will the game be back?

The open water and me.

My player is shown at sea on an empty log. There is nothing on the screen except for me, my log, and the ocean. The black hole that bridged the transition between Chapters 1 and 2 is what it is.

There is no indication of when Chapter 3 will be able to be played. If you want a peek at what's to come, a leaked trailer may have spoiled a lot of what you can expect.

This chapter pushed the narrative ambitions of the game with events like an arcade shooter against a villain, a mission, and even a first-person story. The conclusion of Chapter 2 took things another step forward, and we will have to wait and see what happens in Chapter 3.
