The elite status of some MileagePlus members has been extended for another full year and the PlusPoints validity has been extended for another 7 to 12 months.
United Airlines has mileageplus elite status.
The PlusPoints expiration was extended from January 31, 2022, to July 31, 2022, by seven months. I noticed that my 1K card had a new expiration date.
I am very close, but even with the quarterly promotions, I have not been re- qualified for 1K status for 2023.
Many other United MileagePlus members have received status extensions, it was not just me. The MileagePlus status has been extended through 2022.
Not every elite member has received a status extension yet. It is not clear if United is updating everyone's elite status or if they chose some and passed over others.
PlusPoints are extended by United Airlines for 7 to 12 months.
Plus Points are also a part of status. Upon hitting status, United gives Platinum and 1K members Plus Points. United has taken a different approach to Plus Points.
Those who have re-qualified for status in the year of 2020 through flying have their PlusPoints expire on January 31, 2023.
All of the PlusPoints of those who have not re-qualified for status through flying are due to expire on July 31, 2023.
The members who have received a complimentary status extension rather than earning it have not yet received a new allocation of PlusPoints.

Conclusions.
United is the last major US airline to offer a status extension, following in the footsteps of Delta and American. It does not appear that everyone received a status extension. The elite members who did not earn status through flying in 2021 have not received a new allocation of PlusPoints. We will update this story once we hear back from United.
