Bears coach Matt Nagy announced on Friday that veteran quarterback Andy Dalton will start on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.

Nagy said after practice that Nick Foles would be the backup for Andy Dalton. "Just not there yet medically for the clearance, but he's making good progress."

Fields injured his ribs against the Ravens.

The Chicago Bears defeated the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving despite a short week. The quarterback passed for 317 yards and one touchdown. He was the first Bears quarterback to throw for more than 300 yards.

Bears defensive lineman Akiem Hicks has been ruled out and Allen Robinson is questionable for the game.

Nagy said that Roquan Smith will be a game-time decision after he returned to practice on Friday.
