Two top executives are being removed as part of a reorganization of the company. A regulatory document explains that the Consumer, Revenue, and Core Tech divisions are being restructured in order to drive increased accountability, speed, and operational efficiency. Three teams will be led by Kayvon Beykpour, Bruce Falck, and Nick Caldwell.
The engineering lead, Michael Montano, and the design and research lead, Dantley Davis, will be leaving their positions at the end of the year.
The first black executive to report to the CEO since the public debut of the micro-messaging service was described in a Fast Company profile. He joined the company in an attempt to change the culture of the company. Some employees said that the changes he made were unpleasant, because they weren't used to being asked to criticize each other.
According to Fast Company, Beykpour said that Dantley joining this company is one of the most important inflection points he has had.
This will be the second big change at the company this week. On Monday, Jack Dorsey announced he was stepping away from the company, leaving Parag Agrawal in charge.
The reorganization is meant to speed up decision making. The changes were made with the goal of hitting the goals, according to Laura Alexander.
