Presenting Brian Kelly, Southern gentleman

Brian Kelly has been down South for 72 hours and is ready to challenge anyone who said that he wouldn't be a culture fit at LSU. Do you want a culture fit? How is a brand-spanking-new Southern accent for a culture fit? At halftime of the LSU basketball game, Kelly introduced the crowd to a generic drawl. He must have eaten some life-changing Cajun crawfish for his first meal in Baton Rouge because he changed his accent so fast.

I have had the misfortune of listening to this guy talk for 12 years, and I think that Southern Brian Kelly is going to be an absolute delight to watch over the next three years before he gets fired. If you haven't seen the various meme already made, this new persona is fodder for unlimited and hilarious content.

Kelly was born and bred in Boston and has been a coach in the Midwest for the entire career. He practiced those Coach-O-style "Geaux Tigahs" in the mirror this week to get ready for SEC news conferences and meeting recruits' mothers in the Bayou.

My friends from the South would complain of the hall's weak attempt at jambalaya if we were fed a strict diet of corned beef and cabbage every day.

Kelly is a foreigner in one of the most uniquely cultured areas in the country, which may be a challenge in his recruiting. He has an all-but-empty coaching staff, but he needs to fill it with Southern coaches who know the area and are able to recruit well, but the choice of nearly every Notre Dame assistant to remain in South Bend may turn some potential candidates off. I hope Kelly watches Knives Out every night to perfect the Daniel Craig drawl.

I suppose I am not as upset about Kelly's accent as I should be. I hope it continues because this is objectively the funniest thing he has ever done. After this video drops, I would love to be in the Orgeron household.
