The injury to the quarterback's finger could be significant.

According to Ian Rapoport, the Saints fear that Hill may need surgery on his middle finger because of a torn tendon.
The mallet finger is the same injury that Russell Wilson suffered earlier in the season.
Wilson missed three games after having surgery.
Hill was injured in the first quarter of the Cowboys game. His hand hit the arm of Cowboys defensive end Dorance Armstrong after he threw a pass.
The Saints use him all over the field. He has played in eight games and has 322 passing yards, 205 rushing yards and 52 receiving yards. He sees time on special teams.

Hill missed two games with a concussion before returning in Week 9. He ran for four yards in his first game back after being out for a year, and completed two passes for 33 yards. His usage was way down when he came back.

The product played just 17 of the Saints' snaps. He was on the field for close to 50 percent of the plays before his injury.

Hill had his best season in his four-year career in 2020, starting eight of his 16 games and passing for 928 yards and four touchdown, while adding 457 rushing yards and eight more scores.

Prior to this season, he was competing with Jameis for the starting quarterback position. In Week 8 of the season, Hill was out with a knee injury, leaving Siemian to start.

Before the game, Siemian was benched because of his struggles as the starter. In four starts, he threw for 924 yards and eight touchdown.

If Hill goes under the knife, he will be back in New Orleans.
The Saints have a few days off before their next game.
