Omicron Depresses Demand for International Travel - Travel Weekly

Travel Weekly has an excerpt.

Since the omicron Covid-19 variant emerged as a global concern, demand for international travel has plummeted.

When travel restrictions and headlines related to omicron took hold, international flight searches in the U.S. were 21% below the level of 2019. International travel searches on the metasearch engine were down as of November 30.
Domestic travel has not been affected by the downward plunge. Domestic flight searches on Kayak were down by a similar amount over the course of two years.

The option to see the world will still be there for those who are willing to endure new restrictions brought on by an evolving virus, according to Travel Weekly editor in chief.
