Voters across all of the state's 288 Assembly constituencies will cast their ballots today. Maharashtra is polling to elect a new Legislative Assembly today. Counting of votes will happen on October 24.
The blog will also update you about the voting percentage at regular intervals. This blog will also focus on some of the key areas and constituencies such as Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Nagpur, Palghar, Solapur and Kolhapur, among others.
Timing: Voting will begin at 7.00 am across the state. Polling is expected to conclude by 6.00 pm, according to the Election Commission (EC).
Voters and polling stationsMaharashtra has a total of 8.9 crore voters, including 4.2 crore women and 4.6 men.
As many as 1.06 crore voters fall in the age group of 18-25 years.

This BJP-Shiv Sena alliance, commonly known as 'Maha-Yuti' is being challenged by Congress-Nationalist Congress Party (NCP)'s 'Maha-Aghadi'. Both alliances include other partners too.
Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), Prakash Ambedkar's Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) and Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM are also in fray.
CandidatesA total of 3,237 candidates, including 235 women, are in the fray.
