People Disturbed by Robot With Ultra-Realistic Human Face Expressions

It is always a bit chilling when you see a robot that is able to express itself so much like a human being that it almost tricks the brain into thinking it is possessed by a human spirit.

That is more or less what a UK-based company called Engineered Arts did with its humanoid robot Ameca. Judging by the reactions, we are not the only ones terrified of the robot.

Despite the fact that his electric car company is working on its own humanoid robot, Musk responded to the video with aYikes.

Others stopped the hype.

Tech YouTuber Marques Brownlee advised guys to calm down and stop worrying, it was just a bunch of rubber stretched over them to mimic facial movement. It is all preprogrammed. It is only for research.

Nope.

Brownlee was not immune to Ameca's expressions.

He said, "Internally: nope nope nopenope."

Some users claimed that the robot was already in the future.

One user said that the robot made more facial expressions than him.

Some sounded a note of caution.

Have these people learned anything from watching Westworld?

Some users were shocked by how much they cared for Ameca. One user wrote that this is charming.

The most common comparison was the one of the T-Rex.

One person commented that it was neat. Is this the Hunter-Killer or Human Infiltration model?
