Google's 'Pixel Watch' Planned for 2022 Launch to Compete With Apple Watch

According to a new report from Business Insider, the company is planning to launch a new device next year.

WearOS is the operating system that the company has only developed so far, and it is one of the reasons why it has not yet released a watch. The first watch from the company will be called "Rohan." The report says the watch will have a rounded design.

Jon Prosser released renders of what the watch may look like. Prosser said the watch could launch in October.

The report says that a "Pixel Watch" branding would fit with the product lineup, but it's not clear what name will be chosen. The "Pixel Watch" will help users track their health and fitness, but it's not known how much.

In the years since the release of the Apple Watch, it has gained new features and functions. The "Pixel Watch" is not likely to include advanced sensors such as blood oxygen in its first iteration, unlike the latest Apple Watch.

Business Insider has seen internal documents that show that Google wants to target the mass market. A document by the company said that it intends to design a watch that's comfortable to wear for at least 90% of the population and that it excludes some users from Wearable Wristables entirely.

According to employees who spoke to Business Insider, the launch of the new watch will be in the spring of 2022, but that is subject to change based on feedback from a select group of employees.
