John Joe Gray barricaded himself inside of his home in Trinidad, Texas, for nearly 15 years, which is believed to be the longest police standoff in U.S. history. He refused to leave his residence for years after he was charged for assault and refused to return to court. Gray was not told about the dismissal of the charge until 2016 according to USA Today.
