Polestar teases its upcoming electric SUV, the Polestar 3, set for release in 2022

The Polestar 3 will be the first Volvo car to be manufactured in the United States.

The SUV, which is expected to roll out in 2022, will slot into the premium category, putting it in competition with electric vehicles like theTesla Model X, audi E-tron, Mercedes-Benz EQC, Rivian R1S, and Fisker Ocean. The Polestar will be Volvo's first EV made in the US, and it will be assembled at the company's factory in Charleston, South Carolina.

The Scalable Product Architecture (SPA2), which will arrive with the next-generation XC90 SUV and Polestar 3 in 2022, will include Highway Pilot. The C40 and XC40 are supported by SPA2.
