Eddie's brother, Warren Mekjian, told the website. Eddie was found dead at his home on Saturday. We're told friends and neighbors became concerned when they didn't hear from him in a few days and called the cops.
Eddie had recently been hospitalized for blood clot and could barely walk, but there was no indication of foul play.
Eddie played Carmine Ragusa on the show. Carmine sang on the show. Eddie was nominated for a Tony Award for his role in "The Lieutenant", which was on "Laverne &Shirley", prior to his TV career taking off.
Eddie had guest roles on "Fantasy Island" and "The Love Boat" as well as being on the ABC show " Family Matters."
Eddie has a daughter with Yvonne Marie Grace.
He was 69 years old.
