Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reported that Chris Taylor has agreed to re-sign with the Dodgers.

Jeff Passan reported on the two sides making progress toward a deal. Audacy and Jon Heyman of MLB Network said that the Dodgers were in serious talks with Taylor about a multi-year deal.

The eight-year veteran hit.252 with 20 home runs, 73 runs, and 13 stolen bases for the Dodgers in 2021, his first-ever All-Star Game appearance.

He's played in a variety of positions over his career, from left field to second base. He's played third base and right field. The Dodgers played Taylor mostly in center and left.

He started his MLB career with the Seattle Mariners. The Dodgers have become the best team in baseball over the past five seasons, since the M's dealt Taylor to them.

He's been a full-time member of the Dodgers' lineup since the season of the year in which he hit.265 with 78 home runs and 292 runs scored.

Taylor came through in the clutch many times this year.

He hit a two-run walkoff home run in the Wild Card Game to propel his team to the National League Division Series.

In the fifth game of the NL Championship Series, Taylor hit three homers and drove in six runs.

The Dodgers lost the series in six games.

The Dodgers are already losing starting pitcher Max Scherzer and shortstop Corey Seager in free agency, so what this deal meant to them was explained by Gonzalez.

The Dodgers love Chris Taylor. Bringing him back is a major development that greatly alters the dynamic of their position-player group.

Taylor signed a two-year, $13.4 million contract before the 2020 season that kept him in Dodger blue through the 2021 campaign.

He will be sticking around even longer after agreeing to terms with L.A.
