Los Angeles Dodgers, Chris Taylor expected to reach deal, sources say

Sources told Jeff Passan that the Dodgers are close to a deal with versatile All-Star Chris Taylor.

Taylor, 31, was selected to the All-Star game in his first year with the Dodgers, hitting.254 with 20 home runs, 73 RBIs and 13 steals. He saw most of his playing time as a center fielder and second baseman, but he also saw action at other positions as well.

He turned down the $18.4 million offer to enter free agency.

In the fifth game of the NLCS, Taylor hit three home runs to lead the Dodgers to an 11-2 victory over the Braves. His 13 total bases in the game were a Dodgers franchise record.

It was good news for the Dodgers, who had already seen their star players leave for big deals.

Taylor was traded to the Dodgers in 2016 after breaking into the majors with the SeattleMariners. He hit.264 in six seasons in Los Angeles.
