Alec Baldwin is at the International Film Festival.

According to an excerpt from an ABC News interview released on Wednesday, Alec Baldwin said he did not pull the gun on himself before a live bullet hit and killed a cinematographer and injured a director on the set of "Rust."

He said in the excerpt that the Trigger wasn't pulled. I did not pull the gun.

Baldwin said in the interview that he doesn't know how a live bullet wound up on the set of the Western, which was being filmed at the Bonanza Creek Ranch in Sante Fe, New Mexico.

Halyna Hutchins, 42, was killed in late October and another man,Joel Souza, 48, was injured. The charges have not been filed. An assistant director gave a loaded weapon to Baldwin and told him it was safe to use. The assistant director did not know the prop gun was loaded with live rounds.

Baldwin issued a statement a day after the incident, saying that his heart is broken for Hutchins' family.

He wrote on the social networking site that there were no words to convey his shock and sadness over the accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of his. He said he was cooperating with the police.

The call for additional safety measures and working conditions on movie sets was spurred by the shooting.
