Duke's hold on the college basketball rankings is short-lived.
The Ohio State Buckeyes stunned the Blue Duke on Tuesday night, 71-66, at the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, closing the game on a 14-1 run in the final five minutes.

No. The Duke is on an alert.

Duke scored just 23 points in the second half, but Ohio State's defense earned them the win. Key scored a career-high 20 points to lead the Buckeyes.
The Blue Duke blew a 13-point halftime lead, but they couldn't prevent the performance from being spoiled by that.

The Blue Devil's loss dropped them to 7-1 on the year, while Ohio State moved to 5-2.
Key facts.

Key had 20 points.

E.J. Liddell had 14 points, 14 rebound, six assists.

Branham scored eight points.

Paolo Banchero had 14 points and five rebound.

Moore had 17 points, eight rebound, five assists.

Jeremy Roach had nine points.

Ohio State was able to steal a win because of their free-throw shooting.

It's difficult to beat most teams when you go 11-of-22 from the charity stripe. It's impossible to beat a team like Duke with those self-imposed errors.

Imagine if Ohio State could make free throws.

Ohio State prevailed. The home crowd was behind the team, and they got stops in the second half.
It wasn't pretty. They did it the hard way. It was a huge statement win for the Ohio State team that was smarting from two losses in its previous three games.

Moore couldn't do enough.

It was no surprise that Banchero was effective in the first half against the team, as he had scored 20 points in the first half against the team. He is a special player.
He has NBA written all over him.
Moore, a junior, has more experience on this level, and when he hit a pair of tough buckets to end a Duke cold streak in the second half, it looked as though that experience was paying off.

I can't get over the confidence change of Wendell Moore from his freshman year. It's not the same guy.
>
He's not taking that two years ago or last year. Not with two fouls.

Moore is a candidate for the National Player of the Year. Feel free to change my mind.

Neither Moore nor Banchero came up big in the clutch. Duke didn't make a bucket in the final 5:19 of the game as the Buckeyes ended the contest on an 11-0 run. The run needed to end. Neither could.

What's next?

The game between Ohio State and Penn State will be played on December 5. The time is later. Duke will play South Carolina State at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 14, in their next game. The time is later.
