Donald Trump tested positive for Covid-19 three days before his first debate against Joe Biden, the former president's fourth and last chief of staff has revealed in a new book.

The White House chief of staff is going to testify.

Mark said that he knew that the candidates would have to test negative for the virus within 72 hours of the start time, but he didn't think that would stop Trump from going out there.

In the book, Trump returned a negative result from a different test after his positive test.

The revelation of a positive test for the potentially deadly virus is the result of a year's worth of speculation about whether Trump, then 74 years old, had the potentially deadly virus when he faced Biden, 77, in Cleveland on 29 September.

On October 2nd, Trump announced he had Covid. The White House said he announced the result within an hour. He went to the hospital later that day.

The Chief's Chief will be published next week by All Seasons Press. On Tuesday, The Guardian obtained a copy of the document, which was the day after the Capitol attack.

He writes that he was surprised that such a germaphobe could have contracted Covid, given the precautions that had to be taken.

The positive test was done with an old model kit. He told Trump that the first test would be repeated and that they were hoping it was a false positive.

After a brief but tense wait,Meadows called back with the news of the negative test. He could almost hear the collective "Thank God" that echoed through the cabin.

Trump was given full permission to press on as if nothing had happened. His chief of staff told everyone in his circle to treat him as if he was positive.

According to the new, much more accurate test, there was no need for me to alarm the public if there was nothing to worry about.

Audience members at the rally would never have known that something was amiss.

The public was not told of the president's tests.

On the first day between the tests and the debate, Trump did little except play golf in Virginia and speak about the value of sacrifice, according to the leader of the Republicans.

People within an inch of my face sometimes want to hug me and they want to kiss me. They do. I am not telling them to back up.

In his book, he did not mention that Trump held a press conference in the White House briefing room the same day.

On Monday 28 September, Trump staged an event at which he talked with business leaders and looked inside the cab of a new truck. He held a Rose Garden press conference about the work that had been done to combat Covid-19.

Trump spoke about a new testing strategy that was supposed to give quicker, more accurate readings about whether someone was positive or not.

Trump looked slightly better on debate day, according to Meadows.

Trump was helped to the hospital that evening. The president was in good health, so the stunts were planned. The case of Covid was much more serious than the White House had been led to believe.
