Los Angeles Kings forward Brendan Lemieux has been suspended for five games for biting Brady Tkachuk.

Lemieux will have his salary forfeited by the NHL while he is under suspension. The NHL posted a video and a release on its website.

The Kings won 4-2 last Saturday at Los Angeles'sStaples Center. Lemieux was prone on the ice and wrestling with Tkachuk and a linesman when he bit Tkachuk on the right hand.

The match penalty was given to Lemieux. Lemieux's actions were called the most gutless thing somebody could ever do by Tkachuk.

Kids don't do that anymore. Babies do that. I don't know what he was thinking. He's a complete brick head. He has nothing up there. What a joke he is.

The son of Claude Lemieux, the NHL's most notorious player, and the son of a NHL veteran, are both American-born.

Brendan Lemieux was traded to the Kings from the New York Rangers. He has four goals, one assist and 32 penalty minutes in 14 games for LA.

The Kings hosted the Anaheim Ducks.

This incident plays with the fact that the Senators have been a tough team to play for, and a young team simply have to overcome that. The Atlantic Division has a 4-14-1 record.

"We're not going to look back or be negative about anything," Smith said. "We're going to be positive about everything going forward."
