The overwhelming response to Microsoft's "Buy Now, Pay Later" financing options in Edge browser in the US has been negative. The Buy Now Pay Later option pops up at the browser level and allows users to split any purchase between $35 and $1,000 into four installments over six weeks. The system is powered by Zip, formerly Quadpay, and offers a Chrome extension for users who want to split their payments, which is interest-free if you make the payments on time. The platform has been bundled into Edge by Microsoft.

The tags assigned to the post on Microsoft's Tech Community site show that feedback is negative. The comments posted by visitors to the site can be summed up as follows: "This is a cheap and disgusting move from Microsoft and edge team to the browser users." You should be ashamed of what you've done. Third party services are suggested by listening to the users checkout flows. Bloating the browser. Be better and more responsible.

It's shocking that this is built into the base Windows OS on billions of devices. I feel like I should start a GoFundMe for Microsoft or teach them how to beg bounty, as clearly they need the money.
