The Santa Fe Sheriff's Office said it intends to conduct a search at the business that provided weapons and ammunition to Alec Baldwin's film Rust after interviews done by investigators suggested a mixup may have occurred with the dummy ammunition purchased for the movie.

The movie "Rust" is being filmed in Santa Fe, New Mexico on October 22, 2021. Halyna Hutchins, the Director of Photography, was killed on the set of the movie "Rust" in Santa Fe, New Mexico on October 21, 2021. Hutchins and Souza were hit by a prop firearm that was discharged by Alec Baldwin. Sam Wasson is the photographer.

The images are from the same company.

Hannah Guttierrez-Reed told investigators that she received weapons and equipment from the owner of the company.

He told investigators that he provided dummy rounds and blanks for Rust from a manufacturer called Starline Brass, and that a few years ago he received reloaded bullets from a friend.

Thell Reed, an armorer who is the father of Guttierrez-Reed, told investigators that he had worked with Kenney around August and September to provide training for actors with live firearms on a film.

Reed said after production on that film ended, he suspected that the ones found on the Rust set may be the ones in the can that contained the 45 caliber Colt bullets.

The gun Baldwin shot was a long barrel, Colt.45 caliber.

The affidavit states that the Santa Fe Sheriff's Office wants to conduct a search of PDQ Arm & Prop, and has requested that documents related to equipment and ammunition supplied to Rust be turned over.

The search warrant request provides more information about how Guttierrez-Reed loaded the gun that Baldwin used to kill Halyna Hutchins. Guttierrez-Reed said she had trouble loading the sixth round of the gun after loading five dummy bullets. She said she locked the gun in a safe before lunch, and didn't check it much after. She said she took the gun Baldwin was going to use and cleaned it out.

The key background.

The gun was handled by three people on the day Hutchins was killed: Baldwin, Guttierrez-Reed and Dave Halls. Guttierrez-Reed said she inspected the gun Baldwin used and spun the barrel before handing it over to Halls. She denied that live rounds were kept on the set. Her lawyers believe that the set was sabotaged with live rounds placed in an.380 caliber box for dummy bullets.

Baldwin Firing a Gun was not in the script for the scene that led to fatal shooting.

Was it an act of sabotage? Lawyers raise theories.
