CNN Suspends Chris Cuomo Indefinitely For Helping Brother, Andrew

Chris Cuomo was suspended by CNN for trying to protect his brother.

Chris was benched indefinitely by CNN after the New York Attorney General's Office released new evidence that shows he sent text messages to people on Andrew Cuomo's team in the middle of his sexual harassment scandal.

The new transcripts and exhibits that were dumped Monday shed new light on Chris Cuomo's involvement in his brother's defense. The documents that we were not aware of before their public release raise serious questions.

Here's the full statement from CNN PR. ChrisCuomo is suspended pending further evaluation.

Chris admitted to CNN that he had broken the network's rules by offering advice to his brother's staff.

A network rep says they understood where he was coming from, but in light of the documents, they say they know more about his involvement. He's been suspended pending further evaluation.

IcyMI... Anna Ruch accused Andrew of kissing her at a wedding and Chris sent her a text about it. The staffer of Andrew's was allegedly written to by CC. He said he had a lead on the wedding girl.

Chris was reaching out to his media industry sources to find out who else might be coming forward with allegations against his brother.

As you know... Cuomo resigned from his post, saying he never did anything inappropriate. He is facing criminal charges over some of the claims against him.

Cuomo's ratings have tanked over the last few months, and the fact that CNN is describing his suspension as "indefinite" opens the door to the question of whether he will ever return to CNN.
