Space Force General Says China and Russia Are Attacking US Satellites “Every Single Day”

There could be a heated space battle happening right now.

General David Thompson, the US Space Force's vice chief of space operations, told Washington Post columnist Josh Rogin that. Thompson said that the US government satellites are being attacked by China and Russia.

He describes these operations asversible attacks, which means they rely on weapons such as lasers, radio jammers, and cyberattacks that don't cause permanent damage. His comments bolster the case that space is a theater of war.
The threats are growing every day. Thompson told WaPo that it was an evolution of activity that had been happening for a long time. There are a lot of ways that our space systems can be threatened.

Recent operations from China and Russia to test advanced space weaponry are in the background of the Space Force general's claim.

Beijing caught Washington off guard when it launched a missile. The glide vehicle could potentially be used to circumvent the US missile defense system and pose a threat to space operations.
Russia tested an anti-satellite missile this fall that caused space debris to endanger the lives of the crew of the International Space Station.
Thompson told the WaPo that battles in space are not just a thing of the future, they are getting heated.
A shadow war in space is heating up fast.
