Lionel Messi beats Robert Lewandowski to Ballon d'Or and everyone is arguing

Lewi's fans think he was robbed, and many people think he came too low in the rankings.

There are arguments about who deserved to be where on the Ballon d'Or rankings.

Lionel Messi won the trophy for the seventh time.

He has scored 40 goals in the next two years for Barcelona, four for Paris St-Germain and eight for Argentina.

He picked up his first international trophy when Argentina won the Copa America.

What is the fuss?

Was Lewi robbed?

Many people think that Poland's Robert Lewandowski, who finished second, should have won the trophy.

He scored 53 goals in all of the competition in the year 2021, and was the winner of the Striker of the Year prize. What is he supposed to do? Will he always be the bridesmaid?

The Ballon d'Or was canceled in 2020 because of the flu, but many felt that he should have been recognised for his incredible season in which he helped win a trio of titles.

Lewi broke the record for the most goals in a season by a German player in a single season, when he scored 41 goals in the season.

The decision to award Messi the number one spot was not something that Real Madrid's Toni Kroos agreed with.

He said it was not deserved.

He said, "Messi has been the player of the last decade, but this year there should've been others ahead of him."

Real Madrid team-mates Benzema, Lewandowski and Jorginho were named as the top three.

It is difficult for me to believe in football awards. You have to know who is the best after the season because Messi is one of the best. It's not hard.

Messi heaped praise on the player. He told the player that he deserved his Ballon d'Or. Everyone agreed that you were the winner last year. You have to keep it in your house.

Not everyone is a hater.

There was a lot of support for the decision to recognize Messi's abilities again.

Should Jorginho have been in the top three?

The Blues' N'Golo Kante came in fifth place after a trophy-laden 12 months with the club and country winning the Euro 2020 and the European Championship.

He still has detractors.

Kylian Mbappe was ninth in the vote.

What happened to the player?

A number of pundits and his manager have called him the best player in the world this season. He finished seventh in the Ballon d'Or vote, one place behind the winner, Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Egyptian didn't get as many votes as he would have liked.

The German blamed the media and said that Mo should have been higher up.

Is the Ballon d'Or a journalists vote? Don't ask me, it's your fault! He said that if you think he should be higher up, you should convince your colleagues.

He weighed in on the missing out.

You can give it to Lionel Messi for his career, but then you can't give it to Robert Lewandowski because he's already won it.

Did women get ignored?

The decision to hold the awards during an international break in women's football meant that a lot of top players were unable to attend.

The ceremony had a description of the leading international goal-scorer, but Labbe didn't like it. Christine Sinclair holds the record for the most goals for Canada.

And finally...

Who thought it would be a good idea to show a photo ofRonaldo in his undercrackers?

Is this something that you have thoughts on?

We think that the Ballon d'Or results won't be known on the internet for a long time.
