Jake DeBrusk has requested a trade from the Boston Bruins, his agent confirmed.

DeBrusk has played for the Bruins for five seasons and has 70 goals and 70 assists. The Boston Bruins selected a left-winger in the NHL draft.

He signed a two-year contract in November of 2020 that will make him a restricted free agent after the season.

Over the last two seasons, DeBrusk has seen his ice time decline. He was the team's second-line left wing in the year. The ice time decreased from last season to this season. The power-play ice time of DeBrusk decreased from the previous season.

Rick Valette, the agent for DeBrusk, made a request to the Bruins over the weekend. He said there is no timetable for the Bruins to facilitate that request.

In 17 games, DeBrusk has three goals and three assists. In his first season, he scored 43 points, which is the best of his career.
