More than a year after the original release of the PS5 in the UK, the iPlayer app is finally coming to the console. The app is already available on more than 15,000 devices, including the Xbox Series X / S consoles, so Brits have been waiting for it on the PS5.

The media tab on the PS5's home screen now includes support for streaming 4K content from the service. Neil Hall, head of product at BBC iPlayer, says that PS5 owners can add the app to their home screen by going to the Media tab on the home screen. This will make it possible to use the iPlayer on the PS4 directly from the home screen.

The PS5 version of the iPlayer app is just in time for Christmas TV shows, movies, and the season finale of Doctor Who: Flux.
