Sources told Adam that Mike Bobo is out as the offensive coordinator of the Tigers after just one season.
Bobo was brought in by first-year coach Bryan Harsin, and the Tigers showed flashes of offensive efficiency, but they ended the season 6/6 and out of contention in the SEC West.
Bobo might still be with the program if the Tigers had held on for what would have been a huge upset last week.
In the Iron Bowl, Alabama defeated auburn 24-22 in four overtimes after holding a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter. The result might have been different if Bo Nix was healthy. T.J. Finley was 17-of-26 for 137 yards in place of an injured Nix. He had two touchdown passes, but was also picked off by the Tide.
In the first two weeks, Bobo's offense had back-to-back 60-plus-point efforts, and had some moments in SEC play as well. The four straight losses were all to SEC opponents.
Bobo, who played quarterback for Georgia and was an assistant coach with the Georgia and South Carolina, seemed like a good fit for Harsin's staff.
Bobo left the conference for his first head-coaching job at Colorado State, where he went 28-35. The Rams lost all three bowls.
The decision was reported on Monday night.
