Cuomo's top aide claims New York AG James told her 'everything is going to be fine' with the sexual harassment probe and dismissed 2 accusers' credibility

According to her deposition, Andrew Cuomo's top aide said that New York Attorney General Letitia James assured her that everything was going to be fine.
According to new transcripts released by the AG's office, James discredited two of Cuomo's accusers, Lindsey Boylan and Charlotte Bennett.

The representatives for the attorney general did not reply immediately.
On the day that Cuomo's team issued an executive order allowing James to appoint a special prosecutor to look into the sexual harassment claims against Cuomo, DeRosa said she had a conversation with James.
DeRosa said James told her to calm down. Everything will be fine.

A lot of people came up to James and said that Lindsey Boylan is not credible. Nobody thinks she is credible. Words are what this other allegation with Charlotte Bennett is about. According to the deposition, you have to trust people.

According to court documents, DeRosa said she didn't think the attorney general should be in charge of the investigation.
I didn't think it would be inherently political. There were rumors that she wanted to run against the governor. In her deposition, DeRosa said she didn't think it would be fair.
I asked if he was going to announce that he was not ruling out a run for governor.

James is running for governor of New York in a crowded field that also includes New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams and possibly outgoing New York City Mayor Bill de.

Rich Azzopardi, Andrew Cuomo's spokesman, accused James of using her government power to leverage her political future after releasing Monday's transcripts.

The statement said that she decided to release transcripts minutes before one of her rivals declared for governor. James and her colleagues' misuse of government resources to damage political opponents is as repugnant as it is unethical and illegal.
