A call between two of the most controversial members of Congress quickly went downhill after the two disagreed on the merits of Boebert's apology.

Boebert said in a video that she had called Omar earlier in the day to apologize for her comments.
Boebert said that tensions rose on the call after Omar said she wanted Boebert to make a public apology about the video, in which Boebert was filmed telling a story about riding in an elevator with Omar once and remarking to a Capitol Police officer.
Boebert said that she had already made an apology and that she had countered by asking Omar to apologize for what she called anti-American rhetoric.
Shortly after Boebert posted the video, she refused to publicly acknowledge her comments and I decided to end the unproductive call.
Boebert apologized on Friday for his comments about Rep.
"I don't believe in engaging with people we disagree with who are also bigotry and hate-mongers," she said.
Boebert has faced widespread condemnation after a video of her speaking at an event was posted to Facebook. The encounter never took place. The most left-leaning members of the House are considered to be the members of The Squad. Boebert has risen to prominence as one of Congress's most vocal backers of former President Donald Trump's false claims that widespread fraud prevented him from winning the 2020 presidential election. Boebert is part of the most far-right circle in the House. After Boebert's comments came to light, Omar called on Pelosi and McCarthy to condemn Boebert's comments. Pelosi, along with other Democrats, said that Boebert should stop making comments that are "far beneath the standard" of a House member. Boebert has faced calls to be censured.

The House stripped Gosar of his committee assignments and voted to censure him after he posted a video depicting him killing a lawmaker. The first member of the House to be censured was Gosar. In February, he was removed from committee assignments, but not censured, over previous endorsements of violence.
