Joe Harris will have surgery on his left ankle and will be out for four to eight weeks, but his agent, Mark Bartelstein of Priority Sports, said he was hopeful he could return in less than eight weeks.
Nets head coach Steve Nash said that Harris' surgery will address a little bone particle in his ankle and hopefully allow him to move forward from the injury. Harris has not played since he injured his ankle in a win over Oklahoma City.
Nash said that he would see what the scope meant after the procedure. "We think this is a positive thing that can put this situation behind him and put him in a better position to recover from his injury."
Harris is shooting 46.6% from behind the 3-point line.
Nash said there was a bone particle in there. It's better to take it out because of the uncertainty. We thought it would sort itself out because it's been there. Hopefully that's the end of it.
