A source told Adam that Dalvin Cook had a shoulder injury in the Vikings' loss to the 49ers.

The team still doesn't know how long Cook will be out, and an indication will come from whether or not he is placed on injured reserve, which would sideline him for a minimum of three weeks.

Cook was carted off the field in the third quarter and ruled out for the rest of the game.

The Vikings' coach didn't have an update on Cook's condition after the game, but said the running back would have an exam on Monday.

Cook was injured after being brought down by Givens. The running back grabbed for his chest when he hit the ground after losing the ball in the tackle.

He was on the field for a while as trainers tended to him. The Vikings and Niners players knelt around Cook while he was taken off the field and into the locker room for further evaluation.

Cook had 10 carries for 39 yards and six catches for 64 yards. Cook was replaced by backup running back Alexander Mattison, who ran three times for 8 yards and caught one pass for 2 yards.
