Jussie Smollett Arrives for Chicago Trial Over Alleged Hoax Attack



WGN is a news station.

He's brought a lot of backup, after he was accused of staging a racist and homophobic attack.

A huge crowd of reporters and photographers welcomed the actor as he arrived at the courthouse. Jussie was flanked by 7 family members, including his sister Jurnee, as he strode in to face charges of felony disorderly conduct over the alleged January attack.

A grand jury indicted him on six counts related to lying to cops, but he has pled not guilty to all of them.

Chicago is going to be prosecuting for lying. The prosecutor's office dropped all of the charges against him back in March.

The case was presented to a grand jury, which resulted in 6 new charges.

You'll recall, Jussie initially said 2 white men attacked him at 2 AM, pouring bleach on him, and making homophobic and racist slurs. He said they yelled, "This is MAGA country" at him and left a rope around his neck.

The Osundairo brothers came forward and claimed the whole thing was staged.

The original charges were brought by the Cook County State Attorney because the brothers told cops Jussie paid them to stage the fake attack.

The Osundairo brothers are expected to testify.
