Sources -- Dallas Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy tests positive for COVID-19

Sources say that Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy has tested positive for a drug.

McCarthy will not play in the game against the Saints, according to sources. The Cowboys are dealing with an outbreak of carbon dioxide that has already knocked out a starting right tackle, three offensive coaches and two of their strength coaches.

There are up to eight positives in Dallas according to a league source. Details are still rolling in.

The Cowboys are doing daily testing for players, coaches and staff. The Cowboys were in that mode before Thanksgiving as the league imposed stricter protocols. They will have virtual meetings on Sunday and Monday.

Cooper missed the past two games while on the reserve/COVID-19 list, but is expected to return to the building Monday.

The Cowboys have lost three of their last four games and will play their next three games on the road.
