Sony producer Amy Pascal has confirmed in an interview with Fandango that Tom Holland's Spider-Man won't be hanging up his suit just yet.

This is not the last Spider-Man movie that we will make, that's for sure. The next Spider-Man movie will not be part of the trilogy, we are going to make the next three. This is not the last movie in the MCU.

She said that the two companies are going to keep going together.

The next Spider-Man movie will be made with Tom Holland and the rest of the team.

The licensing deals surrounding the character mean that things are more complicated than it seems. The rights to Spider-Man and his associated villains, allies, and side characters are owned by Sony, who picked up the character all the way back in 1998.

In exchange for co- producing Spider-Man films for Sony Pictures, the character was allowed to be integrated into the popular Marvel Cinematic Universe series of films.

The deal has seen ups and downs over the years, with drama in the year of 2019: Disney and Sony almost ended the deal over profit-sharing negotiations for the first two films of the MCU, although the companies are still in talks.

There are a lot of weird things with the recent Spider-Man films, like the fact that Spider-Man: Far From Home isn't available on Disney Plus or why Tom Holland's incarnation of the character has yet to appear in the film.

Since then, things seem to have been more friendly between the studios. Sony Pictures recently signed a deal with Disney that will allow future film releases to be streamed on Disney platforms. Spider-Man: Freshman Year will be an animated film coming to Disney Plus in the future.

While Spider-Man is assured of his future in the Spider-Man films, Sony Pictures coyly told Fandango that they want to keep making movies together. How is that for an answer?
