Twitter’s Jack Dorsey Expected to Step Down from C.E.O. Role

Two people familiar with Jack Dorsey's thinking said that he would step down as chief executive of the social media site. His departure comes a year and a half after he survived an attempt to oust him.

A person familiar with the situation said that Mr. Dorsey could announce his departure as soon as Monday. The plans, first reported by CNBC, are not public. The spokeswoman did not reply to the request.

In 2008 Mr. Dorsey was fired from his job as chief executive of the micro-messaging service but was rehired in 2015.

His leadership has been questioned by employees and investors who believed that he was unfocused and spent too much of his time on passion projects. During the 2020 attempt to force him out, other employees used the #We BackJack as a rallying cry.
