A crowd filled a pub in Yorkshire on Friday to listen to an Oasis tribute band. The Tan Hill Inn had cold beers, warm fires, and electric musicians.
The snow was swirling and the winds were howling. The general manager of the inn said that the pub-goers knew the forecast was dire, but not so much that they would be stuck in the pub.
The local authorities said it was not safe to drive home after the band finished.
The band members and seven employees stayed at the inn.
And then another.
They were going to stay another night.
A group of off-roaders took a couple of parents home to their children because the roads were not safe to travel on. A mountain rescue group helped to evacuate a man who was in need of medical attention.

The band members had to cancel their performance because of the weather. The band said on Facebook that they have no way of getting to the gig.
The people at the pub want to be respectful of each other and have enjoyed a few beers.
Some of the people who were stranded already had rooms at the inn, while others parked their motor homes outside. The rest slept on the floor in the lounge. They were given mattresses, blankets and pillows by the employees.
The problem is that the road leading out of the pub is blocked by a downed power line. The pub is in a town in North Yorkshire, which is more than 200 miles from London.

The United Kingdom has been reeling from the storm, which has been blamed for the deaths of at least three people who died in separate episodes on Friday.
A man died in Cumbria, England, after a tree hit him, the police there said, while a man in Northern Ireland and a man in Scotland were struck by falling trees in their cars.
Thousands of people are without power because of the storm. The Met Office, Britain's national weather service, has issued several warnings about the storm, which it has named Storm Arwen.
The weather has not let up for the pub patrons. Emergency workers looked to be clearing a path out of the pub as a video on social media showed snow blanketing the doorway.

patrons have been trapped for days in the inn
The inn has kept people up to date on the episode on Facebook. In a post on Sunday night, it jokingly called the pub-goers inmates and said that some are at breaking point.
Ms. Townsend said that, for the most part, everyone seems to be happy.
She said that it was like being at a party with all your friends, and that the inn would not run out of food.
She said that those gathered have shared roast dinners, a couple of beers and a buffet with lots of different picky bits. The patrons helped wash the dishes.
The group of amazing people who came together, and hopefully, in challenging circumstances, enjoyed what we all think was a life-changing experience, will always be remembered.
People have been snowed in at the inn before. This happened on New Year's Day in 2010 as well. The inn was filmed for a commercial by the U.K. grocery chain, Waitrose & Partners.
The group will leave the pub as friends and even have a reunion next year.
