Man Survives Flight From Guatemala to Miami in Plane’s Landing Gear

The man hid in the landing gear compartment of the plane while he was in Miami.

A spokesman for the airline said that Flight 1182 landed at Miami International Airport at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Mr. Garduo said that the plane was met by law enforcement due to a security issue. He said the airline was working with law enforcement.

The Customs and Border Protection said that it had taken into custody a man who tried to evade detection in the landing gear compartment of an aircraft that arrived in Miami on Saturday morning. The man was taken to a hospital for a medical assessment.

The agency said that people are taking extreme risks when hiding in confined spaces. This incident is under investigation.

The Miami-Dade Police Department, which has a station at the airport, did not respond to requests for comment on Sunday.
