The Oklahoma Sooners have a candidate in mind to replace Lincoln Riley, who is set to be named head coach at USC.

According to a report by Adam Schefter, Oklahoma is interested in getting rid of Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury. He noted that the contract of the man is one year left after this season.

Arizona has the best record in the NFL at 9-2. The team improved to 8-8 last season after he led the team to a 5-10-1 record in his first year.

When he accepted the head coaching position at Arizona, he was tasked with developing Kyler Murray, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.

After missing three games with an ankle injury, Murray was considered a candidate for the league's Most Valuable Player award. He's thrown 17 touchdown and rushed for three more in eight games.

He made a name for himself as one of the best offensive minds in college football. The head coach of Texas Tech from 2013-18 was Kliff Kingsbury.
He was a fast-riser in the coaching ranks. He was on the offensive staff at the University of Houston. Johnny Manziel won the Heisman Trophy in 2012 and he was named offensive coordinator for Texas A&M.

After a bye in Week 12 the Cards will return to action on December 5 against the Bears.
