The second stint with the Carolina Panthers isn't going well for CamNewton.

He was replaced by P.J. Walker after completing just five of 21 passes for 92 yards and two turnovers. He had a good rating.

In the loss to the Dolphins,Newton ran for a touchdown. It was his second start since rejoining the team on a one-year deal.

The backup quarterback for Carolina completed just five of 10 passes for 87 yards and an pick.

In his first start for the team last weekend, he was much better than he was in the previous game. He completed 21 of 27 passes for 189 yards and two touchdown, and 10 carries for 46 yards and a score.

Just days after signing with the Carolinas, quarterback CamNewton completed three of four passes for eight yards and a touchdown, and ran for another score in a 34-10 win over the Arizona Cardinals.

Sam Darnold was placed on injured reserve with a shoulder ailment. The recovery time for Darnold is four to six weeks, which means he might not be back for a while.

It's not clear if he will be ready to return when Carolina plays the Atlanta Falcons on December 12.

In his last few seasons,Newton has struggled. He missed most of the year because of injuries, but he was still able to complete 65.8% of his passes for 2,663 yards, eight touchdown and 10 interceptions in his time with the New England Pats.

If he struggles in the game against Atlanta, Matt Rhule will pull him from the game more quickly.

The loss on Sunday dropped Carolina to 4-7 on the season.
