Spain to require proof of vaccination from UK travellers

The entry requirements for travellers from the UK have been updated.

Travelers from the United Kingdom will have to show a vaccine certificate when they arrive in Spain.

Concerns over the new Omicron variant of Covid-19 have led to the decision.

Travelers from the United Kingdom can enter Spain with a vaccine or negative Covid-19 test.

Travelers from the United Kingdom will need to show proof of being fully-vaccinated at least 14 days prior to arrival.

When travelling with an adult, children under 12 years old are exempt.

Passengers travelling to Spain must have a health control form filled out and have a QR code on hand.

Spain has one of the highest vaccinations rates in the world and one of the lowest Covid-19 rates in Europe, according to Turespaa.

The incidence rate of Covid-19 in Spain is 98 cases per 100,000 residents, based on data from the Spanish ministry of health.

The Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands are included in the new legislation for UK travellers.
