There is a look at what's happening around the New York Jets.
1. Double vision is a meaningless game. Hah!
The Jets-Houston Texans game on Sunday will affect the top of the draft, which is a big deal for two fan bases desperate for hope. The Jets and Texans are both 2-8, with the Jets currently in the second spot and the Texans in the fourth.
The Jets own the No. 6 pick thanks to the Seattle Seahawks trade of Jamal Adams. The Jets could end up with two top 10 picks for the first time in franchise history if the worst season in a decade by the Seattle Seahawks is any indication.
It's rare in the NFL. There have been 17 instances when a team had two selections in the top 10. It last happened in the year of 2018, when the Cleveland Browns picked Baker Mayfield and Denzel Ward.
You have to go back to 2000. The Washington Football Team took two players, and the Baltimore Ravens took two.
The odds of finding a star are better at the top, even though there are no sure things. Four of the 17 went on to the Pro Bowl and 10 went on to multiple Pro Bowls. Do you remember the last time the Jets drafted a Hall of Famer? John Riggins was a running back for Washington.
The two first-round picks are crucial to the Jets' rebuilding plan. It's too bad the draft isn't top-heavy with quarterback prospects; that would allow the Jets to possibly scoop up the best non-quarterback. You always see late risers once the pre-draft process is over.
If you're a Jets fan, root for the quarterbacks. To keep losing, root for the Seahawks. Seattle's remaining schedule is one of the easiest, and it's 25th in difficulty. The Jets still have a chance of landing the top pick.

2. The pressure is on, and it could be double-edged.
When the quarterback went down with a knee injury, the Jets were in a mess. Over the last four weeks, they've averaged 436 yards per game, which is tops in the league.
Wilson curtly said "No, of course not" when asked if he felt pressure to maintain that. I play my ball in a certain way. The other quarterbacks are to be credited. I learned a lot from their reps, but I have to play my game and not worry about that.
Wilson is rejoining an offense that is functioning at a higher level than before, making it better equipped to handle his inexperience.
Wilson 2.0 will be judged by fans and media. He doesn't care.
"I don't care what anyone thinks, if I'm being honest," he said. I want to see improvement in myself when I watch the tape at the end of the day.
3. Mike LaFleur deserves some credit for his work over the last few weeks. The offense is showing gradual improvement, no easy task with the quarterback instability, despite the fact that he took a lot of heat for the slow start.
The Jets were ranked 31st in total yards after Week 7. Their weekly rankings have been 28th, 24th, 22nd and 21st. They climbed 10 spots with three different quarterbacks, a mix of inexperience and old-man rust.
Over the past month, Mike LaFleur's offense has climbed from 31st to 21st.
4. The Flacco trade, which takes a different light with the revelation that he's unvaccinated, will go down as one of the most curious deals in recent Jets history. They can easily get the sixth-round pick back. It's because of the about-face on the importance of a veteran quarterback and the knowledge that he would miss the first two games because of the late arrival.
5. There are five quarterbacks in the building with the mid-week addition of James Morgan. You can't have too much insurance.
6. Did you know? The Jets had 14 roughing-the-passer penalties a year ago. The other teams were not close to that number. A lot of people blamed the defensive coach for his style.
They're once again leading the league in roughing penalties. John Franklin-Myers was the most expensive defensive linemen to commit a cost last week. That's not a talent issue or a rebuilding issue, it's a discipline issue.
