Brendan Lemieux was hit with a match penalty and ejected from the Los Angeles Kings game on Saturday after Brady Tkachuk said he bit his hand.

The players were fighting on the ice in the third period when Tkachuk got up with blood on his hand. He told officials that Lemieux bit him during the fight.

"It's crazy," Tkachuk said after the game. Kids don't do that anymore. Babies do that. I don't know what he was thinking, he's just a brick head. He has nothing up there. He is a bad guy, but he is a joke.

Lemieux, who has become a staple on the fourth line, needs to be careful not to cross the line in instances like his fracas with Tkachuk, which could result in a suspension, according to Kings coach Todd McLellan.

McLellan said that they need him to play every night. He needs to play every minute that he gets. Physically, defensively, emotionally. We will miss him if we lose him for a period of time. He has to understand how important he has become.

The Kings snapped a five-game losing streak on Saturday night.
