The Witcher Season 2 Clip Gives Geralt Some Giant Bug Trouble

The second season of The Witcher is almost upon us, and that means more of Henry Cavill's brooding (and not quite grunting) Geralt of Rivia and his new, youthful charge Ciri. A clip for the new season shows the white-haired monster hunter going up against the Myriapod, a nasty foe that fans may be familiar with.

Geralt and Braenn meet Ciri for the first time as they save her from a myriapods in the book Sword of Destiny. You can see that this is a callback to the show proper, where Geralt meets his adoptive daughter in a noticeably different way. If you played The Witcher 3, you'll probably recognize this ugly thing from Blood and Wine. The thing looks pretty gnarly, and it will give Geralt a run for his money. Hopefully it is the only one and there are no others waiting to come out of the ground.

The clip is short, but Geralt uses a quin sign to create a shield against the big bug and his sword is glowing orange, which usually means a rune or oil is at use. You have to think that he would have given some input on how the fight would go, given how much he loves the games. It is possible that he had more to say about the other monsters that Geralt and Ciri will face.

The second season of The Witcher will be released on December 17.
