The 10th close approach by the solar probe came at a rate of over 5 million miles per hour.

At a record distance, the close approach occurred at 4:25 a.m. The solar probe is moving 586,912 kilometers per hour. The mission's 10th solar encounter began Nov. 16 and continues through Nov. 26.

All systems were operating normally after the spacecraft entered the encounter. On Nov 24th, mission operators will check in with the design and build of the solar probe at the Applied Physics Laboratory in Maryland.

The data from the encounter will be transmitted back to Earth in December and January. There are 9.

The record-setting swing by the solar probe was retrieved on November 26, 2021.
