Mustapha Amzil's lone basket of the game was unforgettable.

Amzil hit a jumper in the lane at the buzzer to give Dayton a 74- 73 win over Kansas.

Malachi Smith's layup was blocked by David McCormack. Amzil's shot went off the rim and backboard before it went in.

Amzil said it was great. I had to watch the ball bounce. It's hard to describe. It's hard to believe. It's a great feeling.

Amzil's only shot was from the field. He went 4-for-4 at the free throw line.

Anthony Grant said that Mustapha had a great presence of mind to know the time. The shot fell and we are grateful.

After Smith cut the deficit to 73-72 on a layup, McCormack was called for an offensive foul.

The 16-1 spurt ended with a pair of dunks by Holmes as Dayton took a 53-50 lead five minutes into the second half.

After Kansas made it a one-point game, Holmes was left alone for a dunk that made it 70-67.
