The Green Bay Packers wanted to keep Rodgers out of the practice field this week so he wouldn't have to go.

That's how LaFleur approached the game against the Rams.

Rodgers was a nonparticipant all week because he did not practice Friday. He got a few reps in the Friday practice leading up to the game against the Vikings, in which he started slowly but was nearly unstoppable after halftime, leading touchdown drives on every second-half possession.

Jordan Love was in charge of all the practice snaps.

LaFleur said that Rodgers came to practice. He was out there and saying the play calls, even though he didn't participate in practice.

"Yes, he'll play," said LaFleur.

This has become the norm since Rodgers went on the reserve list. He returned to the team the day before the game against Seattle, after missing the Kansas City game. Rodgers has practiced once since his return from the reserve list.

"It's been how it's been for the past couple of weeks," Nathaniel Hackett said. I can tell you that my respect for him as a player goes up nonstop. Everybody talks about how good he is at throwing the ball, but his strength is amazing. It's awesome that he's doing what he's doing with this. We know that he's going to do whatever it takes to get ready for the game and be able to go.

Rodgers said on Wednesday that he could have surgery on his toe if it wouldn't keep him out of any games.

Rodgers said managing the pain was the key.

The Packers and Rams are both coming into the game with injuries, but the Rams are coming off a bye week.

The Packers have three key players listed as questionable for Sunday, including running backs, because they are without three starting offensive linemen and two of their top defensive players. None of those three played last week against the Vikings, but they all practiced this week.

"If a guy is cleared to play, we'll let him go," LaFleur said when asked about the impact of next week's bye on the decision-making process. You're aware of what you have in front of you.
