A source confirmed that Deonte Harris is appealing a three-game suspension from the NFL for a summer drunk driving arrest.

The case of Harris was resolved earlier in the month of November when he was sentenced to one year of supervised parole. The length of Harris' suspension was reported by the NFL Network.

Harris agreed to the statement of facts in the police report after pleading not guilty. Harris registered a blood alcohol content of 0.246% after driving more than 20 miles per hour over the speed limit and swerving across three lanes of traffic on the interstate.

Harris was selected to the Pro Bowl as a kick returner, after being named first-team All-Pro. As a receiver, the 5-foot-8, 170-pound has become an essential part of New Orleans' offense. He leads the team with 437 receiving yards on 27 catches, which includes two touchdown catches.

Injuries and salary-cap cuts have left the Saints' offense without a receiver and a quarterback for the entire season. The Saints have been without their star running back for three games, but he is expected to return soon.

The Saints have 309.4 yards per game.
