KLM 777-300ER With 350 Passengers From South Africa Trapped On Tarmac In Amsterdam

350 passengers from South Africa were trapped on the tarmac in Amsterdam.

On November 26, 2021, Matthew Klint posted.

Europe went into panic during the flight after the plane took off on time. Dutch officials didn't know what to do with the passengers on the Boeing 777 when it landed in Amsterdam.

For a long time. And hours.

The plane from South Africa was stuck on the tarmac.

The New York Times's play-by-play man,Stephanie Nolen, has offered play-by-play on his account.

I am on the tarmac at Schipol. Europe went into variant panic when I was in Jo'burg and we weren't allowed off the plane.

South Africa has world-class scientists and is transparent about what they find, so it is hard to see it being punished for that.

The rumour is that everyone on my plane will have to go through a two week suck up. You can imagine the mood on the plane.

Health care workers and anyone in a job that requires them to wear an N-95 for a long shift are well respected. I have had 1 on for 31 hours, and my nose is about to bleed, because I have had 1 on for so long.

If the US CDC had announced a new variant, with 22 confirmed cases, yesterday, would all flights from the US have been barred from Europe?

Just speculating.

There is a bus that will take us somewhere. We think it has to be better than here, even though we don't know where.

There is a bus going to a hall. I can see COVID testers wearing bright blue PPE. There are no snacks for the sad babies. And hangry adults. There was some noise coming off the plane.

Shame, man. A lovely Scottish person is talking to an elderly Zimbabwean lady who was on the plane and explaining why we are stuck here. She didn't understand it. They are helping her call her daughter. The last person on the flight was capable of kindness.

We have reached the stage of travel disruption where middle aged men are yelling about their human rights.
